As a transplant in America, the festivities and excitement for the July 4th holiday always surprised me – until this year. My son, Luca, who is now 18-months, was able to properly celebrate the holiday for the first time. As for most toddlers, for him the holiday was a culmination of all his favorite things to do – eating his favorite foods (especially ice cream and popsicles), playing with his cousins, jumping in the pool, having his dad’s undivided attention, and, of course, watching fireworks.

Fireworks for Entrepreneurship
Another fourth of July holiday weekend has come and gone and so too with it the excessive amount of food, pool time, and, last—but not least—fireworks!

FIFA World Cup
As some of you may know, in a past life, I was lucky enough to play soccer professionally. Some of my fondest memories as a child were waking up super early on Saturday morning to watch Serie A (the Italian league) and the English Premier League with my dad. He would always urge and push me to watch his favorite players so my game would grow into that of his favorite players. To be frank, Dad and I have vastly different views on how the beautiful game should be played and we would bicker about how my favorite players were much better than his favorite players – a topic that is still argued to this day (he is a Messi fan, and I am a Ronaldo fan).

Digital Assets: Lathrop GPM Takes on Consensus
Author: Julian Sansano
I recently attended the largest cryptocurrency, non-fungible token (“NFT”), and digital asset conference in the world. Consensus by Coindesk attracts tens of thousands of people from around the world, in a variety of fields and sectors, who either participate in the world of digital assets or are looking to build their knowledge and network in the digital asset world. Incredible buzz and excitement—think trade show meets rock concert, but the rockstars were the largest players and influencers in the digital asset game. For example, the founder of Cardano, a cryptocurrency, presented in jeans and a tee-shirt about his optimistic views on the future of cryptocurrency and their utility in the modern world, while the Chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission presented in a suit about incoming crypto regulation.
